The Origin of Kemet
An immense celestial being, made of stardust and cosmic energy, once roamed the infinite space of the cosmos for eons. Throughout its life it would witness the birth and death of numerous stars and planetary systems. However even this primeval being was not immune to the ravages of time. The numerous strands of cosmic energy that bound its form together slowly began to decay, causing it to lose its cohesion.
As the forces binding its gargantuan form began to unravel, it could no longer continue to traverse the cosmos. Finally, as the connections between the last of these strands dissipated, it knew the end of its existence was rapidly approaching. It concentrated every bit of its matter into a single point to create the foundation of a new world.
As the remnants of its massive form coalesced, raw elements and minerals began to bond together into a molten sphere. As the millennia passed, the surface of this newly created planet would cool which first formed vast continents. Its moisture rich atmosphere condensed and fell to the surface to eventually form the oceans. The very essence of the being that created it imbued this new planet with celestial power, which would one day give rise to a diverse set of lifeforms.
The first life on the planet were simple organisms, emerging in places where pockets of the remaining celestial energy bubbled to the surface. Through time these organisms became more advanced and complex, often caused by prolonged exposure to these fonts of astral essence dotting the planet’s surface.
Tens of thousands of years have passed since the earliest sapient creatures first emerged into this world. They’ve since formed into clans or nations and created a complex web of tiny settlements, vast cities and burgeoning economies.
Today the people who inhabit this world, now called Kemet in the planet’s common language, are unaware that their home was created so long ago by this colossal celestial being or that the very fabric of this world is made up of its remains. However none would exist if it weren’t for its final act. Maybe one day scientists or researchers will find a way to unlock this knowledge and learn more about their planet’s origin.
