Earliest existence: 8,000 years ago

Much like the Loxodon, the Minotaur evolved from great horned bovines that migrated through the great plains in search of food. While they roamed the wide grasslands they became constantly exposed to the celestial powers that were fed from the streams and rivers here. However, unlike their pachyderm cousins, who had established and defended their ancestral homeland for thousands of years by that point, they emerged into a much more hostile world.

Humans had begun to claim territory all across the continent to feed their rapidly growing populations and in search of valuable natural resources. The Minotaur chose to retreat underground rather than compete against the much more established and powerful Humans within the region. It took a long time for them to become accustomed to their new environment but over time they built a loose coalition of clans that would keep them safe against incursions from surface dwellers.
