Earliest existence: 9,000 years ago

Thousands of years ago, an Elven spellcaster named Jandar Tornalis, had a desire to conquer and enslave the “lesser races” of Ka’Uvala. He left the Elven lands of Felu’melor and set out into the scorching desert of the Silhol Valley looking for the perfect place to put his plan of creating an army into motion. This would be no ordinary army though. He would create figures by hand from stone and earth then channel potent magical energy into his creations in order to create sapient life. This process also transformed their bodies into flesh and blood but also bound them to serve only him. He would call them Tabaxi.

He would eventually find what he was looking for, a cave within a rocky outcrop deep within the Silhol Valley. Here he established his camp, sheltered from the harsh rays of the sun, and got to work sculpting. He had decided to make them appear cat-like but walk on two legs. It was very slow and very hard work creating the first Tabaxi, but with each one he created, the work got exponentially easier as he now had a small workforce doing much of the mundane jobs for him.

As his workforce grew, however, he quickly realized that the amount of magical energy he needed to dedicate in order to maintain his hold on the Tabaxi was growing larger than he had calculated. As time went on and his army continued to grow, it became apparent that he was growing exhausted and would lose control of his minions. He would try to rest and attempt to find a solution.

With work stalled, the days passed and he was struggling to maintain his magical link. No amount of rest was enough and a solution eluded him. Before long he was completely exhausted and his link to the Tabaxi was failing. With a final gasp his enslavement of the Tabaxi ended and with their newfound freedom they would kill their creator so as to never be under his control again.

Although their creator was dead, the transformation their bodies went through was irreversible and so the newly freed Tabaxi would set out into the deserts of the Silhol Valley to create a life for themselves.
